Hi! I'm Shawna Barkey, Artist and new owner of Spiral Studio!
I have always been an eclectic, nature loving, artistic soul, and upon becoming an empty nester and moving from Washington to the amazing Juneau, Alaska I spent many, many hours trying to figure out my next career path. In the meanwhile my friendship with my new neighbor grew into a fun studio apprentice position that brought me so much joy, and engaged all my senses! When she told me she was near retiring, I couldn't believe the fortune to have the opportunity to chase my own dreams, as she has hers!
Nell has taught me so much about creating jewelry and art glass in many forms. I deeply enjoy creating metal jewelry and incorporating pearls, crystals, found objects, and more! I'm loving evolving as an artist and cannot wait to continue my skillset and spiral journey creating things! Thank you so much for being here supporting my art and my dream job!
